The head of ‘Noord Holland’ is a quit area with much water, stretched polder area’s and nice beaches. The coastal area is an astonishing 30 km long with bathing towns as ‘Julianadorp’, ‘Groote Keeten’, ‘Callantsoog’ and ‘Petten’. The many canals, ditches and inner waters attracts many fishing enthusiasts . A network of fine cycling lanes make sure that beautiful bike trips can be made. From ‘Den Helder’ you can reach the ‘Noord Holland’s’ Island ‘Texel’. ‘Het Zwanenwater’ (The swan water) is known for her spoonbill colony and two big lakes in the dunes in the neighborhood of ‘Callantsoog’.
The more southerly situated villages ‘Bergen’ and ‘Bergen aan Zee’ are limited bij dunes, forest, polder and the beach of the North sea.

‘Alkmaar’ is an old city with over 400 monuments. With the past as décor, the city has a modern and broad shopping stock. ‘Alkmaar’ is the biggest city in the direct surrounding and offers everyone something to his liking.
Southwest of ‘Alkmaar’ lies the ‘Egmonden’. 1000 years ago a small fishing village was situated in the dunes what eventually grew into ‘Egmond aan Zee’. The broad beach offers plenty of facilities like pavilions and surf and sail possibilities. A bit more southerly the places ‘Bakkum’ and ‘Castricum’ are situated. Beneath the North sea channel, the cozy city ‘Haarlem’, ‘Zandvoort’, and ‘Bloemendaal aan Zee’ are situated. These places have the broad beaches as well. Additional advantage is the short distance towards ‘Schiphol’ and ‘Amsterdam’. |
